I'm trying to understand normal operating temperature for my 2017 250 SHO. I have temperature on the Instrument screen of the Simrad electronics. Temp runs 120s when idling, runs 130s when loaded. Mar 26, 2015 · You want to be as close to 5800 rpm's as you can with that motor to get the best perforamance. you might need to raise your motor that said i'm running a 150 4_stroke with a s.s tempest plus 19p on my lund and it runs about 5700 rpm at 48-50 mph on gps.. When idling under load at 900 to 1000 rpm the temp gauge starts to creep to 150 - 160 degrees. Over 1200 rpm the temp goes to 140 and stays there until 3000 rpm and then starts to creep back to 160-165. At any rpm over 3000 rpm it stays at 160-165 while underway. It idles at 140 degrees with no load on the motor.
